/ School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Welcome to the website of the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Western Australia. Our School is spread across six major teaching hospital sites in Perth and incorporates four academic units and two research centres. It also serves as a WHO Collaborating Centre and has close links with the World Psychiatric Association and a number of leading academic departments and universities in Australia and worldwide. The School staff members are internationally renowned for their research in the areas of diagnosis, assessment, epidemiology, genetics and treatment of mental disorders including schizophrenia, dementia, somatoform, anxiety and substance use disorders. Our School has well-structured and organised undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training programs in psychiatry and related disciplines. A number of our School staff members are actively involved in the policy development and provision of highly specialised clinical care to people suffering from mental illness.
