The Healthway-funded initiative involving social marketing, innovative health resources and education strategies to encourage people to try healthy behaviours.

Improving your physical health

This campaign aimed to increase the awareness of the effects of smoking, nutrition, alcohol and other drugs and physical activity.

There are five ways to improve your physical health:

Control smoking

  • Reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke per day and aim to QUIT.

Eat for health

  • Eat more fruit and veg and less junk food, cakes,chips.

Manage alcohol

  • No more than three-four standard drinks per day for men, one-two standard drinks per day for women.

Be active

  • Find 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

Ask for Help

  • See a General Practitioner for a physical health check every 12 months.
